The Continental Indoor Football League announced the Player's of the Week for Week 8 of the CIFL season.
Offensive Player of the Week
is the Louisville, KY native and the quarterback of the Kentucky
Xtreme, Kevin Warner. Warner threw for 137 yards and 2 touchdowns while
rushing for 63 yards and 3 additional touchdowns against the Marion Blue
Racers. Warner attended Kentucky State University and continues to lead
the Xtreme offense.
Defensive Player of the Week
is from the Erie Explosion, defensive back Kwaheem Smith. The New
Jersey native lead the Explosion defense with 6 tackles and 2
interceptions of which he returned one for a touchdown in the 52 - 20
victory over the Saginaw Sting. Smith attended Lincoln University and
will look to lead the Explosion defense against the Kentucky Xtreme.
Special Teams Player of the Week
is from the Saginaw Sting. Kicker Returner / Wide Receiver CJ Tarver
earns the honor this week for his first quarter missed field goal return
that electrified The Dow
Event Center Crowd in Saginaw against the Explosion. Tarver is a native
of Albany, NY and has proven to be a dangerous return man in the Indoor
Football game.
