For
the second week in a row a defensive lineman from the Wichita Wild has
been recognized as Defensive Player of the Week in the Champions
Professional Indoor Football League (CPIFL). Members of the Kansas City
Renegades and Lincoln Haymakers are also being honored for their
performances in Week 4.
Offensive Player of the Week: Clinton Solomon, Kansas City Renegades
Solomon
helped Kansas City to their first win of the year by catching nine
passes for 110 yards. Solomon scored four touchdowns in the 54-47 win
over the Oklahoma Defenders. Solomon is fourth in the league in
touchdowns with five. The Renegades will look for a winning streak as
the Wichita Wild visit Kemper Arena on Saturday.
Defensive Player of the Week: Matt Moss, Wichita Wild
A
week after James McCartney was recognized as Defensive Player of the
Week, his teammate Matt Moss put together a dominating performance in
another victory for the Wild. Moss recorded six tackles with three sacks
vs. the Bloomington Edge. Moss is second in the league with 7.5 sacks
this season. Moss and the Wild hit the road to Kansas City to take on
the Renegades this week.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Courtney Grixby, Lincoln Haymakers
Grixby
is the first player in CPIFL history to be recognized as a player of
the Week twice. Grixby was named Defensive Player of the Week in Week 2.
In the Haymakers loss to Sioux City, Grixby returned five kicks for 130
yards including the longest kick return in the league this season of 55
yards for a touchdown. The Haymakers travel to Bloomington for a Friday
night clash with the Edge in Week 5.
Week
5 of the CPIFL season begins on Friday night with Bloomington hosting
Lincoln. On Saturday Kansas travels to Mid-Missouri, Kansas City hosts
Wichita and Oklahoma travels to Salina to take on the Bombers. The week
wraps up in Omaha on Sunday where the Beef battle Sioux City.
