The
New Orleans VooDoo signed Head Coach Pat O'Hara to a two-year contract
extension, announced the front office on Thursday afternoon.
"Coach
O'Hara did a great job last year and turned the VooDoo into a
contending team. This was an easy decision for our organization to
make," said Dan Newman, VooDoo co-owner.
In
just one season at the helm, O'Hara guided the VooDoo to just the
franchise's second playoff berth in its history. Counting team and
individual records, O'Hara set over 40 new franchise benchmarks.
In
2012, O'Hara took the VooDoo from a league-worst 3-15 record in 2011 to
the 2012 playoffs. O'Hara -- who came to New Orleans from the Orlando
Predators in 2011 after guiding the team to back-to-back postseason
appearances -- has been to the AFL playoffs for three consecutive
seasons.
"I
love New Orleans and the fans," said O'Hara. "I am very glad that I am
able to continue representing the city as the head coach of the New
Orleans VooDoo. Last season we made strides, but I am ready to take this
franchise to the next level."

AFL Field Pass Subscriber Wins ArenaBowl Trip
With
the 2012 Arena Football League regular season in the books, the AFL has
announced the winner of the AFL Field Pass trip to AVITAE ArenaBowl
XXV.
AFL Field Pass subscriber Mike Dawson will be headed to AVITAE ArenaBowl XXV as the winner of a trip for two to New Orleans.
Dawson was an active Field Pass member, participating in Field Pass “Top 25” votes and winning the fan club’s regular season “Pick’Em” game. Dawson and his wife, Carrie, also earned a pair of actual field passes for a Chicago Rush home game earlier this season as well.
All AFL Field Pass members attending AVITAE ArenaBowl XXV will be granted special access to a number of events, including Media Day, a “Haunted History Tour” with the 2012 NET10 Dream Team, priority seating to the Wheelchair Basketball Game for Joey’s Hope, special admittance to the Silver Anniversary Gala, a tour of the New Orleans Arena and behind-the-scenes access to FanFest and the Commissioner’s Tailgate prior to AVITAE ArenaBowl XXV on August 10.

The Arena Football League has launched “AFL Field Pass,” the official fan club of the AFL, the League office announced today.
Fans that join the club will have access to behind-the-scenes and exclusive content through an interactive website at AFLFieldPass.com. The site offers fans a “field pass” to insider information, coach and player blogs, videos, online games and contests, as well as access to exclusive interviews.
“There's no substitute for the way the Arena Football League interacts with its fans,” AFL VP of Broadcast, Communications & Branding Anthony Herron said. “AFL Field Pass will kick that up another notch as we provide info and display access like they've never seen.”
In addition to special web content, AFL Field Pass members will also enjoy several other benefits throughout the season, including a personalized AFL Field Pass membership card, a Silver Anniversary lapel pin, contests, exclusive AFL Shop discounts, a commemorative Silver Anniversary magazine program, an invitation to ArenaBowl XXV Media Day and the Awards Ceremony, and more.
Access to all content on AFL Field Pass will be available at no charge during a one week free trial period, which begins today. After the initial trial period, standard membership rates will apply.
