Spokane Shock To Host Preseason Orange And White Game

The Spokane Shock will host a Preseason "Orange and White Game" at the Spokane Arena on Sunday, March 10th, 2013. Event doors will open at 2:00pm with kickoff for the game scheduled for 4:00pm.
The "Orange and White Game" is FREE to Season Ticket Holders, members of the United States Military, and kids 12 years of age and under. Seating for the game will be on a general admission, first come first serve basis with tickets being sold for $5 each. Tickets will go on sale for the "Orange and White Game" on Friday, February 1st at all TicketsWest Box Office locations, online at www.ticketswest.com or by calling 1-800-325-SEAT. The game will be a very competitive, full-contact training camp atmosphere as players battle for the final spots on the 2013 roster. The game schedule will consist of four, fifteen minute quarters with Head Coach Andy Olson dictating the pace and format of each series. Players will be showcasing the new 2013 team uniforms.
This event will also feature the 2013 Spokane Shock Season Ticket Pick-up Event. Season Ticket Holders will be admitted into the event for free with the option to pick-up their Season Tickets and t-shirts for the season. New Shock merchandise will also be on sale, as well as pre-order opportunities for Shock replica jerseys through Zome Design.
Spokane Shock Players, Coaching Staff, and the Rockstar Dance Team will be available for autograph and photo opportunities. Shock Sponsors and Community Partners will also be present, showcasing concourse tables and joining in for this great event!

Shock Join Movember Movement to Support Men's Health, Fight against Prostate Cancer

The Spokane Shock have joined the Movember movement to support men's health and the fight against prostate cancer. During the month of November, the Shock will be raising awareness and funds for men's health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives as a part of the Movember campaign.
The funds raised by the Movember campaign are directed to programs run directly by Movember's partners, the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVESTRONG Foundation.
Together, the three channels work together to ensure that Movember funds are supporting a broad range of innovative, world-class programs in line with the strategic goals set forth in the areas of awareness and education, survivorship and research.

During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men's faces, in the US and around the world. With their Mo's, these men raise vital awareness and funds for men's health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives.
Once registered at www.movember.com, men start Movember 1st clean shaven. For the rest of the month, these selfless and generous men, known as Mo Bros, groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery. Supported by the women in their lives, Mo Sistas, Movember Mo Bros raise funds by seeking out sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts.
Mo Bros effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November. Through their actions and words they raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men's health.

Spokane Shock to host local MMA 'Rising Stars' in new fight series

The Spokane Shock present a new monthly MMA Fight series called "Arena Rumble: Rising Stars."
The first fight card will take place on November 10th, 2012 at the Spokane Shock Facility located at 3212 N Eden Rd in the Spokane Valley. Doors will open at 6pm PST with the event beginning at 7pm PST.
"Arena Rumble: Rising Stars" will showcase the best local fighters in the Inland NW to the Spokane area's MMA fans before they hit the big time.
The previous Arena Rumble event hosted by the Spokane Shock had an attendance of nearly 4,000 fans at the Spokane Arena. There will be only 1,000 tickets available for this fight series' opening night event.

Shock Host Camp to Support Foundation

The Spokane Shock, Spokane Elite Dance Studio, Rockwood Clinic, and Spokane Crew will be hosting a day of youth camps on Monday, November 12th, 2012 at the Spokane Shock Facility to benefit Cure for Cat Foundation.
Cure for Cat seeks to raise funds for local 25 year old Cat Davis who is fighting systemic scleroderma. For more information visit www.cureforcat.com.
Spokane Elite Dance Studio will host a Dance Camp from 10am-12pm. Instruction will be led by Maggie Kazemba, Shock Dance Team Members, and Instructors of Spokane Elite Dance Studio. Maggie has over twelve years of experience in studio and dance teams around Spokane; including the Director of the Spokane Shock Dance Team and Head Coach of the WSU Crimson Girls.
The Spokane Shock and Rockwood Clinic will host a Football Camp from 1pm-3pm. Shock Coaches, Players, and Rockwood staff will lead Speed, Performance, and Skill Drills. Participants will be tested in 20-yd shuttle, 40-yd dash, broad jump and compete in Positional Drills and One-on-Ones.
Spokane Crew will host a Baseball skills camp from 5pm-7pm. Instruction will be led by Shawn Henry and Spokane Crew Instructors at the Spokane Shock Facility with Indoor Batting Cage. Instruction will provide campers with skill training to help players reach maximum potential.

Shock Solidify Coaching Staff for 2013

The Spokane Shock have agreed to terms with Shock Defensive Coordinator Travis Crusenberry and Defensive Back's Coach Stanley Franks to return to Head Coach Andy Olson's Staff for the 2013 season.
Travis Crusenberry was a member of the ArenaCup Championship Coaching Staff in 2006 under Chris Siegfried. The following season, Crusenberry left the af2 to join the AFL's Kansas City Brigade as Offensive Line Coach and Director of Player Personnel for two seasons. As the Director of Player Personnel, he helped to create a roster that gave the Brigade its first playoff berth in franchise history and its best record (10-6). 2010 marked Crusenberry's return to the AFL and to Spokane. Under Head Coach Rob Keefe, he captured his first ArenaBowl Championship and molded one of the top offensive lines in the AFL. In 2011, he served as the Offensive and Defensive Line Coach before assuming the Defensive Coordinator role for the 2012 season. By re-joining the Coaching Staff for the 2013 season, Crusenburry will enter his fourth season with the Shock.
"Travis Crusenberry brings a wealth of experience to our Coaching Staff as a former player, Director of Player Personnel, and Assistant Coach with line, defense, and special team backgrounds. His ability and understanding of on-field play as well as his experience in scouting and recruiting athletes to Spokane is a tremendous asset to our Organization and we are excited that he will be returning in 2013," said Shock General Manager Ryan Rigmaiden.
Former Shock defensive back Stanley Franks was added to Head Coach Olson's staff in Fall 2011. In 2010 with the CFL's BC Lions, Franks recorded 70 tackles with three interceptions. His second season with the Lions was cut short after he suffered a season-ending leg injury. Franks burst onto the Arena Football in 2009 and was a key role in Spokane's ArenaCup Championship season. That season he led the team in tackles (97.5) adding eight interceptions with 17 pass break-ups. At the University of Idaho in 2006, Franks led the nation in interceptions per game with an average of 0.75 and had nine interceptions in 12 games earning first-team all-WAC recognition. While in Junior College, he earned all-American and all-state recognition with 62 receptions for 778 yards and eight touchdowns.
"Stanley Franks is a true players Coach. His ability to relate to our players from his own experience in NCAA D-1A, CFL, and Arena Football is a great addition to our Staff. We're looking forward to the opportunity of having Stanley back with us in 2013 and are eager to see him to contribute as a Defensive and Special Teams Coach with us next season," said Head Coach Andy Olson.
